Mainstream welcomes Silva Seferian Jacotine as General Counsel & Head of Risk
We are pleased to welcome Silva Seferian Jacotine into the newly created role of General Counsel and Head of Risk.
Silva joined us on 12 October 2020 with over 20 years of experience as a corporate, investment funds and commercial lawyer.
Prior to joining Mainstream, Silva was a Partner in the corporate and investment funds group of Travers Thorp Alberga in the Cayman Islands, specialising in hedge funds, private equity structures, and all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including regulatory advice, compliance and governance.
Silva began her career as a corporate lawyer at DLA Piper (formerly Phillips Fox) in Sydney, before moving to Gilbert & Tobin’s mergers and acquisitions and corporate teams. Silva then moved in-house to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s wealth management arm before moving to the Cayman Islands to join the investment funds group at Walkers.
Silva has been recognised as a leading lawyer in investment funds in Who’s Who Legal: Private Funds in the 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 editions.
Silva holds a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Finance) and a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) from the University of Technology Sydney.
Silva was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 1999, and practised as an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands from 2007 to 2019.
